With anything online, including social media, you would need a password to confirm your identification and allow you to login to your account.  You would think it obvious, but there are still some people out there who use “password” as their password.  This has been rated the TOP worst password ever as so many people still use it and so many of their accounts are hacked into on a daily basis.  Some people think they can up their game and add a “0” at the end, but this must then be the second worst password ever used as this is the first option hackers choose second to “password”.  After that comes “123456” and so forth.  One can still not believe people use this, but I once had an acquaintance who’s bank card’s code was just that – “1234”.

The aim of a social network is that it is an information gateway that makes it possible for people across the globe to share information through connecting in ways that were never thought possible even with the invention of the computer.  This is one of the advantages of social media but have you ever thought of it having a huge disadvantage like it being possible to, say,  rob your neighbors?

Throughout your life you are constantly asked for your driver’s licence, i.d or any other form of identification for any business dealings or when you open any form of account.  We also need our ID’s to vote, when a traffic officer pulls us over or when entering an establishment that only allows from a certain age group and up.  Basically, our identification documents are who we are and we are lost without it.

Everybody knows Sir Richard Branson as being at the top of his game when it comes to business.  But everyone also knows that he didn’t start at the top – he started as a mail-order recort retailer until he started his own “goldmine” in 1970 which is now managing 300 companies in 30 countries and consist of enterprises like music, travel, health and so much more.  One of these that stand out is Virgin Galactic which is already in the process of selling tickets to travel to space.

The latest in technology is to do everything via the internet and that included them looking for employment.  Everybody is turning to digital and social media to assist them with looking for a job and now the people offering the jobs have copped onto the digital world as well.

Social media crises are becoming more and more frequent but have been made less by the right social media investment.  Most of the companies that were caught up in social media crises did not have the proper internal education programs including staff and employee social media policy.  Here are some of the requirements that were missing resulting in a social media crisis .

One gets a feeling of doubt from time to time and even a feeling of stress and that could be the same feeling your can get from social media.  How many social media users have not per accident posted something personal on their business platform or at the least stressed that they might have?

During the month of January 2010, Toyota faced a problem as 2.3 million cars had to be recalled due to accelerator pedals that were problematic.  This is where social media harmed them more as everybody was discussing it on chat platforms.  In the 1980’s Audi had a similar problem but didn’t get half the attention as there were no social media platforms around.

More and more online marketers are joining Facebook with the purpose of dominating their online market.  However, because most people are still ignorant regarding social media, they tend to achieve minimal to no results in their business.  The most important fact to remember is not to advertise your business too much, otherwise you will be seen as a spammer, and you will subsequently be ignored.  There are a number of strategies to be followed when marketing online with Facebook.
